All contributions will be published in the conference proceedings. In addition, selected research works will be invited for inclusion in a book published by SENSE PUBLISHERS and also in special issues of the following journals:
- Revista Curriculum y Formación del Profesorado. Indexed in SCOPUS and the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). Web of Science. Thomson Reuters.
- Journal of Information Technology Research (JITR). Indexed in SCOPUS.
- RELATEC journal. Indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). Web of Science. Thomson Reuters.
- Education in the knowledge society. Indexed in Latindex, DICE and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
- Enseñanza & Teaching. Indexed in Latindex, DICE and Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ).
Submitted manuscripts will be subjected to the journals’ peer review processes and editorial policies.
- In order to provide opportunities for as many people as possible to present their work at ISATT 2017 authors may not submit more than one abstract for each presentation type (i.e. a total of 4 abstracts, for an oral presentation, poster, symposium, or workshop) where they are the presenter. Individuals may undertake other roles at the conference, e.g. symposium chair, symposium discussant and may be a subsequent author on a paper, where that paper is to be presented by another registered participant.
- All presenting authors of accepted abstracts for oral and poster presentations and all presenters in accepted symposia and workshops are expected to attend the ISATT 2017 and be present at the scheduled sessions. Submission is a commitment to attend the conference.
- Abstract submissions for all presentations must be no longer than 250 words.
- Abstract submissions for all presentations must contain NO author identification. This ensures that each abstract can be reviewed in a ‘blinded’ process by two reviewers from the scientific committee.
- Abstracts will be printed in the conference programme.
- Abstract submissions for symposia or workshops must be done by the symposium or workshop chair on behalf of all presenters. The chair will need to include the details of the session (title and summary) as well as the abstract of each paper which will form part of the session. Each presenter in a workshop or symposia will need paid registration to ensure inclusion in the programme.
- Paper submissions and conference presentations must be in ENGLISH. Poster submission and printouts can be in ENGLISH, SPANISH or PORTUGUESE.
- All presenting authors must have a paid registration to ensure inclusion into the programme.
- Accepted abstracts have the opportunity to submit papers for inclusion in the conference book that will be available to all delegates. Submission of these are of 3,000 word (including references).
- Once the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors must register for the conference and present the paper at the conference.
- Oral presentations allow the opportunity to present and discuss original research in relation to the conference theme.
- Each presenter will be provided with a 25 minutes presentation time slot. We suggest planning to use this time in such a way that the audience can actively participate in, and engage with, the presentation. Allocated discussion time should be included in your 25 minute presentation time slot.
- Presenters will need to bring their presentations on a memory stick. You will NOT be able to present from your own laptop, due to the equipment already in place in the lecture theatres and to minimise time delays between presentations. Each presentation room features standard audio-visual equipment, including projection screen, lectern mic, lapel mic, data projector and a Windows-based computer.
- Poster presentations allow presentation of original research in a form that delegates can interact with during the length of the conference.
- There will be a block of time allocated when presenters will be available to discuss their posters, and posters will be displayed in the trade exhibition/catering area.
- Posters are to be portrait and A0 in size (maximum). A0 paper size is 841 x 1189 mm or 33.1 x 46.8 in. Panels and adhesives will be provided.
- Prizes will be awarded for the best poster in two categories:
- Early career researcher/postgraduate/honours researcher category
- Open category
- A symposium provides an opportunity for a session focussed on a particular theme or topic.
- Symposia will be 100 minutes long and can have between 3 – 5 contributors. One contributor should be the discussant who provides a plenary discussion of the ideas presented in each symposium.
- It is the responsibility of the symposium chair to organise the other presenters and to submit all of the presentations. The chair may divide the 100 minutes as they choose but time should be allocated for opening and closing remarks, presentations, and audience interaction.
- Workshops provide an opportunity for individuals to offer a session that contributes to the conference participants or advances a deeper understanding of a conference theme. Examples include: a roundtable discussion on a particular topic; workshops on a particular methodology; a pecha kucha event.
- Workshops will be 60 minutes long.
- It is the responsibility of the workshop chair to organise any presenters and/or resources required for the workshop. Workshop organisers may divide the time slot they are allotted as they choose but they should ensure high levels of audience interaction.
